and now, the end is near. and so i face, the final curtain

Well, I guess it’s 2:44 am and I’m still awake writing here on my blog. To be honest, I’m really starting to get mixed emotions about the events that would transpire in the immediate future. First off, I would start my practicum in PGH. For six weeks, I would be there and be given on the job training in probably the best training and proving ground for health professionals here in the Philippines. This is good for me because first, the training would be exceptional and it will build on a good foundation in which my fine professors laid down for me. However, there is also a fear that is lingering in me because I am carrying one hell of a name. Something that I feel I have to uphold given the quality of education that was available. From October 18 to November 3, I, along with some of my classmates would be part of the clinical rotation in the hospital as a nutritionist-dietitian. In here, our knowledge regarding our field of study will be tested and seared into our brains in the span of 16 days. After that, we would then be transferred to the food service area for 11 days.

When that is over, we would be sent to Communities the following year for six weeks. While there, we will be tasked to gather and assess a community’s nutrition status. From there, we will be formulating and implementing a program as to how the nutrition problem of the community would be solved.

Also, in December, I will be taking the NMAT which now makes me really nervous because I really don’t know how well I’m going to do there. I really need to sharpen up my knowledge and hopefully, I would be able to do well enough that I would get into a really good medical school.

These three are just a few major things that are going on in my life. I really want to pull through so that my life would go according to plan. I will soon graduate from UP. I will be leaving a place where I’ve been for the past 6 years. God, that sounded really nice. ‘Til next time!
